The movie has set several box-office records and continues to ring up sales at the box office. With growing momentum, the movie is expected to surpass the Rs 600 crore collection in a couple of days, emerging as one of the biggest blockbusters of 2025 in Hindi cinema.

The movie, which draws heavily from real-life events like Operation Lyari, the 2008 Mumbai attacks, and R&AW covert operations against criminal syndicates, is receiving widespread critical praise from cinema lovers.

The careful inspection of Dhurandhar by cinephiles led to a surprising discovery in the credits. The name 'Rahul Gandhi' appears in the credits as an executive producer, and netizens went crazy, mistakenly associating it with the Congress leader and leader of the Opposition, Rahul Gandhi.

Social media platforms are flooded with screenshots, leading to a debate among netizens. Netizens reacted with humour and disbelief to this discovery. One user wrote, "Bhai sahab ye Kis line mein aa gaye aap?. Another one said, "Change of career for Rahul Gandhi ji after losing 99 elections. Now, he has become the Executive Producer of the Dhurandhar movie."(sic) Another shocked user said, "Rahul Gandhi, executive producer of Dhurandhar?".

To clear up the misunderstanding, the Rahul Gandhi seen in the opening credits of Dhurandhar is not the one everyone is referring to. He is an experienced producer who has been an active member of the Hindi film industry for many years. Before Dhurandhar, he has been associated with movies like Rustom, Mumbai Diaries, Rocket Boys, Farzi, The Family Man, Lucky Bashkar and Vedaa, to name a few.

With the first chapter of Dhurandhar already a success, this is just the beginning. The sequel, tentatively named Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge, is scheduled to release on March 19, 2026, aligning with Eid-ul-Fitr. It is expected to go head-to-head with Yash’s much-anticipated gangster drama Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups at the box office.
