Guide was far ahead of its time, an ultra liberal redemptive take on a taboo subject. The story revolves around a tourist guide in Udaipur, played by the ever-charismatic Dev Anand. His life takes a transformative turn when he meets and falls in love with Rosie, a spirited young woman stuck in an oppressive marriage with Marco, an elderly archaeologist. Waheeda Rehman shines as the youthful, optimistic Rosie, while Kishore Sahu portrays her distant husband, Marco.
