However, like his wife, the 'Terminator' star is also seeking joint custody of the couple's two minor children Patrick, 17, and Christopher, 13.
Shriver, 55, had also pledged that Schwarzenegger, 63, should pay for her attorney's fees, but the former politician instead has requested the judge to make each party foot the bill for their respective lawyers.
Since the estranged couple lacked a pre-nuptial agreement, so under the Californian law, they will be entitled to a 50/50 split of all earnings and property accumulated during their 25-years marriage.
