Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan has reportedly sustained injuries while shooting for his upcoming film King.
Khan was shooting an action sequence at the Golden Tobacco studio in Mumbai when he suffered the muscle injury.
“It’s not a serious injury, but more of a muscular strain," a report in the Bollywood Hungama quoted a source close to the production house of the film. “Over the years, Shah Rukh has picked up multiple injuries from stunt work, and this seems to be a result of accumulated stress," they added.
Reports suggest that the Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge star has flown to the US for precautionary treatment.
TMC chief and Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee, who shares a warm and cordial relationship with the actor and often refers to him as her "brother," expressed concern upon hearing the news of his injury.
"Reports regarding my brother Shah Rukh Khan sustaining muscular injuries during shooting make me worried. Wish him speedy recovery," Banerjee posted on X.
The actor has been reportedly asked to take a month long break from shooting and as King involves several high-octane action sequences, he has been advised to rest effectively till the injury subsides.
