Sucker PunchA battle sans punch

After accidentally killing her sister, Babydoll (Browning) is put in a new type of asylum but she continues to keep her sanity and hope, for a way out. Soon she realises she is not alone in her quest for freedom, as there are four other women who want to escape from the asylum. After proving their skills, the girls must now learn to walk together to fight their way out.

The promos of the film have artful action sequences, promising brilliant scenes and a good plot. However, despite the excellent computer-generated imagery effects and artistically pleasing screenplay, the missing links become evident. The plot is quite strong but the characters lose their way along the zigzag storyline. There is also over-emphasis on some scenes involving Babydoll leaving the audience strangely amused.

If you are keen on seeing ladies kicking their way to freedom, Sucker Punch may be for you. But know this. The film lacks punch on many fronts.
