Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi are gearing up for their big release, Thandel. Based on real events that took place in 2018, the love action drama film narrates the journey of Indian fishermen who were held captive by Pakistani forces and jailed. For the unversed, the former Minister of External Affairs, Sushma Swaraj, who was a courageous advocate for Indians abroad, contributed tirelessly in securing the release of 22 fishermen who were held in Pakistan's jail. After the iconic leader passed away, her daughter, Bansuri Swaraj, ensured the return of those 22 fishermen.

Director Chandoo Mondeti is bringing this incident to the big screens with, Thandel. The movie also highlights the unwavering contribution of Sushma Swaraj and her family. Recently, the producer of Thandel, Bunny Vasu, approached Bansuri Swaraj to seek permission to use the name of Sushma Swaraj as well as the real footage of the press conferences. To this, the family wholeheartedly granted them permission along with a No Objection Certificate (NOC).

Upon receiving permission, Bunny Vasu extended gratitude and penned a note saying, "Heartfelt gratitude to @BansuriSwaraj garu for allowing us to showcase the remarkable work of your mother, the former Central Minister Mrs. @SushmaSwaraj garu, in bringing back the fishermen who were stuck in Pakistani jails in 2017 and 2018 in our #Thandel 🙏 Your support in granting permission to share the names in our real, hard-hitting story of Raju and Satya means a lot to us. ❤”

Thandel stars Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi as the protagonists, while Sundip R Ved plays the role of an antagonist. Ever since the trailer was released, the netizens extended their heartfelt appreciation and best wishes for the film's big release.

Apart from the impressive star cast, the film also carries a spectacular technical crew with National Award-winning composer Devi Sri Prasad at the helm of the music, and Shamdat handling the cinematography. National Award-winning Naveen Nooli is the editor, and Srinagendra Tangala leads the art department.

Directed by Chandoo Mondeti, Thandel is produced by Bunny Vasu under the banner of Geetha Arts with Allu Aravind presenting it. The film is set to release in the theatres on February 7 and take the audiences on an adventurous thrill ride.
