Coldplay fever is still on in India with Chris Martin and the band leaving no stone unturned to woo the fans, making the ticket-buying process seem worth the effort.
In the latest video making rounds on social media, the lead singer of the band can be heard thanking the Mumbai audience for welcoming the band to India, despite them being from Great Britain as he proceeded to apologise to the crowd for "all the bad things" that Great Britain has done in the past.
"This is our fourth visit to India...we couldn’t have asked for a better audience to play to so thank you for coming everyone. It’s amazing you welcome us even though we are from Great Britain, thank you for forgiving us for all the bad things Great Britain has done," he expressed.
In the video shared by one hunar_anand on Instagram, where the singer is seen making a heartfelt statement, users have responded with mixed reactions.
"Chris healing intergenerational trauma with a mic, stage and some tunes," wrote one user while another wrote: "Ohh. A random guy from Britain apologised. That solves everything!!🤡"
In fact, throughout the evening, Martin made a concerted effort to connect with the audience in their native tongues. His attempts to speak Hindi and Marathi were met with overwhelming warmth.
There were plenty of unforgettable moments that resonated deeply with fans at Navi Mumbai's DY Patil Stadium where Coldplay kick-started their 'Music of the Spheres World Tour’ in India.
For two hours at the packed stadium, Martin belted out chartbuster tracks like Paradise, Viva La Vida, Adventure of a Lifetime, Yellow, Fix You, and A Sky Full of Stars, among others.
One of the evening’s most standout moments came when Martin noticed a fan holding a placard that read "Jai Shri Ram". Curious, he uttered the phrase, igniting thunderous cheers from the crowd.
Martin’s innocent inquiry about the meaning of the phrase only heightened the audience's excitement.
