Three women CRPF personnel were killed while 18 others were injured when a bus was hit by a speeding truck early today in West Delhi's Dwarka area.

The accident took place at around 6:20 AM when a group of all women CRPF personnel were on their way from Jharoda Kalan camp to Dwarka camp, police said.

The bus was hit by the truck when it reached Dwarka Sector-14, they added.

The deceased were identified as Assistant Sub-Inspector Ramkala (45), Head Constable Seema (38) and Saroj (40).

Eighteen of their colleagues were injured in the incident, three of whom have slipped into coma, police said, adding, those injured are being treated at a nearby hospital.

"The personnel belonged to the 88 battalion of the force. They were going to Dwarka camp to check their duty chart, following which they would have gone for deployment in the New Delhi area," a senior CRPF official said.

The errant driver of the truck managed to flee from the spot. Police have registered a case in this regard and efforts are on to nab him.
