Three students of Jawaharlal Nehru University were killed when their motorcycle hit a divider and then rammed in a tree on the campus, police said today.

The deceased, all in their mid-twenties, have been identified as Ravi Singh Chaudhary and Ravi Shankar Gupta, both residents of Gaya, Bihar while their third friend has been identified as Santosh, who hailed from Ranchi, Jharkhand. All of them were studying MA (Korean language) at the University.

The incident took place at 2:30 AM.

"The one who was riding the bike lost control over it which first hit a divider of the road and then a tree. All the three were seriously injured in the incident. One of them was rushed to AIIMS Truma Centre and the other two to Safdarjung Hospital by the police," a police official said.

Doctors said that one of them had died on the spot while the other two succumbed to their injuries during treatment.

Police has registered a case under at Vasant Kunj North police station and further investigations are on.
