In a statement, Airports Authority of India (AAI) said, "In light of evolving circumstances and dynamic airspace conditions, commercial flight operations were temporarily suspended at 32 airports until 05:29 hours of May 15. We are pleased to inform that these airports are now fully operational for civil aircraft movements with immediate effect."

Passengers scheduled to travel via these airports are advised to stay updated by checking flight status directly with their respective airlines and monitor official airline websites for the latest information, it said.

Earlier, the AAI along with other aviation authorities had issued a series of Notices to Airmen (NOTAMs), announcing the temporary closure of 32 airports across northern and western India for civil aircraft movement.

The airports, which were closed, included Chandigarh, Srinagar, Amritsar, Ludhiana, Bhuntar, Kishangarh, Patiala, Shimla, Dharamsala, Bathinda, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Leh, Bikaner, Pathankot, Jammu, Jamnagar, and Bhuj.

Flight operations at Chandigarh airport have resumed. “Flight services to and from Shaheed Bhagat Singh International Airport, Chandigarh, have resumed as of 10:30 am on 12th May 2025. Passengers are advised to check with their respective airlines for updated schedules,” it said on X.

Amritsar and Srinagar airport authorities among others also said they have reopened the facility.
