36-yr-old woman claims to have visited Sabarimala

A woman has claimed that she visited Sabarimala Ayyappa temple in Kerala on Tuesday and offered prayers without any protests, even as she was 36.

Manju, said to be a SC activist from Kollam, made the claim through a post in social media. She also published some pictures and video footages as evidences. The pictures and video footages show the woman dressed in black and with 'irrumudi kettu' (offerings to the lord) at the temple premises. Her hair was slightly grey in colour making her look aged beyond 50.

In her Facebook post, she claimed that she got the help of a social media group of progressive youths to visit Sabarimala. She also challenged the Sabarimala priest to conduct purification rituals.

The police were yet to comment on her claims. It may be recalled that two women in their forties entered Sabarimala on January 2. It had triggered widespread violence in the state.
