Four more teams of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) are being airlifted to Kerala, which is facing heavy rains.

Following the unprecedented rains and Indian Metrological Department's red alert for several districts, the fresh teams are being airlifted from the NDRF Base in Pune to Kerala.

Presently, 14 teams of NDRF are deployed in the flood-affected areas in Idukki, Ernakulam, Palakkad, Alaphuza, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Thrissur and Pathanamthitta districts.

So far, NDRF teams have rescued seven precious lives and evacuated 685 people in Kerala. A round-the-clock NDRF control room in Delhi is closely monitoring the situation and is in touch with other agencies for further deployment.
