An earthquake measuring 4.3 on the Richter scale hit Mizoram on Tuesday, according to the National Centre for Seismology (NCS).

The epicentre of the temblor that struck at 7.52 a.m. was 46 km ENE of Ngopa and at a depth of 15 km.

This comes amidst media reports of another 4.9-magnitude quake in Xizang area of Tibet, close to the India-China border in Arunachal Pradesh, that struck at 4.29 am.

Its tremors were felt in Arunachal Pradesh.

The two quakes come a day after two other temblors jolted the northeast region.

On Monday, two earthquakes of moderate intensity had jolted parts of Assam and Manipur.

There was no report of loss of life and damage to property in any of the quakes that occurred within 28 minutes on Monday.

According to NCS data, the first quake measuring 3.5 on the Richter scale hit southern Assam and occurred at a depth of 35 km from the surface.

The second tremor measuring 3.8 on the Richter scale was recorded at a depth of 20 km from the surface and jolted Manipur's Kangpokpi district and the adjoining areas.
