Five youths were arrested on Tuesday for allegedly abducting and gang raping a 23-year-old woman who was returning home after work in a pub.

The five accused — Sunil, Mohit, Ankit, Rupesh and Navin — have been taken into custody, Gurgaon Deputy Commissioner of Police (East), Maheshwere Dayal said.

Two other accused — Amarjeet and Vinod — are still absconding.

The accused belong to Madina village in Rohtak and are between the ages of 18  and 20.

The woman, who works at a pub in Sahara Mall in Gurgaon, was on her way home in a taxi on the night of March 11 when the car-borne youth allegedly forced the vehicle to stop, abducted her and raped her in a flat.

In her complaint, the woman said she was dumped near Chattarpur Metro Station in Delhi where she approached the Delhi Police who in turn contacted their Gurgaon counterparts.

“We have crucial leads. Soon we will be able to catch the two absconding persons. We are getting CCTV footage from the pub so that we get more clues from there,”a police officer said.

In January this year, some youths had tried to abduct and molest a girl outside the same mall.
