Six paramilitary CRPF personnel were injured when militants attacked their vehicle in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Wednesday.

A police official said militants opened fire on the vehicle of the 96 Battalion Central Reserve Police Force at Lazibal in Anantnag at 8.45 am. Two CRPF men received bullet wounds, while four others were injured after they were hit by broken glass panes of the vehicle, the official said.

Inspector General, CRPF, Zulfikar Hassan said the jawans were returning to their camp near Pahalgam when their vehicle was attacked.

According to reports, following the attack, the area was cordoned off by security forces and a search operation launched to nab the militants.
