Drug menace in Kashmir has increased manifold compared to the previous years, which was evident from the seizure of a huge quantity of narcotic substances and the number of arrests of drug peddlers in recent years.

Last year, the J&K Police had recovered 36.08 kilograms of pure heroin and 49.7 kilograms of brown sugar from different parts of the Valley.
