A day after industry leaders backed the Centre’sAgnipathscheme, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav said they should "walk the talk" by first employing already retired soldiers.

The administration here is in the process of identifying those involved in the violent protests over theAgnipathmilitary recruitment scheme and will recover from them the loss caused by damage to public property, an official said on Tuesday.

"There is no scope of indiscipline in the forces. If any Agniveer shows indiscipline, he or she will be warned once, but if that person repeats the same, the Commanding officer has the authority to send him back," says tri-service chief.

Opposing 'Agnipath' not in interest of youths: Dharmendra Pradhan

Union minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Monday called the ‘Agnipath’ scheme “pro youth” saying that opposing it was not in the interest of the youngsters of the country.

Addressing party workers and leaders at Police ground here, Pradhan said that after serving in the army for four years, these youths would be accommodated in other forces and organisations. (PTI)
