Air India on Wednesday flew in its 10th Dreamliner aircraft from Seattle even as Boeing’s showpiece aircraft was recently in news for wrong reasons.

With Civil Aviation Minister Ajit Singh on-board, the latest Boeing 787, carrying call sign VT-ANG, landed at the Delhi airport at 1:50 pm from the Boeing headquarters in Seattle. The plane was received by Air India Chairman and Managing Director Rohit Nandan and Prabhat Kumar, Joint Secretary, Civil Aviation Ministry.

Air India is now in possession of 10 of the 27 Boeing 787s, for which it had placed orders.
The minister was in the US, leading a team of ministry officials, to attend the India-US Aviation Summit. He held a series of meetings with aviation officials and also visited the Boeing headquarters and manufacturing facilities. The new Dreamliner arrived days after a windowpane of one aircraft cracked while landing in Melbourne.
