In what was a close shave for over 150 passengers, an Air India aircraft overshot the runway at the Pune airport on Friday.

The Delhi-Pune AI-849, which was carrying 150 passengers, overshot the runway. The Air India and Airports Authority of India conducted an emergency evacuation. There were no reports of casualties.

Efforts were underway to clear the blocked runway.  “#AIUpdate: #AI849 from #Delhi to #Pune overshoots the runway. An emergency evacuation was carried out. All 152 pax are safe,” the national carrier tweeted.
