The decks have been cleared for the launch of India's first high speed train that will link New Delhi and the Taj city of Agra -- in 105 minutes.

An official statement here said the coaches for Gatiman Express had reached New Delhi from Kapurthala in Punjab. Two successful trials have been held July 3 and Sep 11.

When the service starts, the train will leave the national capital at 8 a.m. and reach Agra Cantt railway station at 9.45 a.m. It will depart Agra at 5.30  p.m. and reach New Delhi at 7.15 p.m.
The coaches will have automatic sliding doors -- a la Delhi Metro.

An official told IANS that it was now for the railway ministry to decide the date for the inaugural run.
