All train services to Tripura, Assam suspended

In wake of violence in several parts of Assam and Tripura over the Citizenship Amendment Bill, Indian Railways has suspended all passenger train services in Tripura and Assam and short-terminated long distance trains to the region.

During the review of the security situation in North East, the railways officials decided to suspend some train services till the situation normalise, said the railways officials.

The railways also dispatched 12 companies of the Railway Protection Special Force to protect the railways properties after some of the railways stations were set on fire by protestors.
