Within hours after addressing a party rally in West Bengal's Malda district, BJP president Amit Shah returned to New Delhi on Tuesday evening due to ill health. Shah who was diagnosed with swine flu was recently discharged from the hospital.

" He (Shah) has returned to Delhi. He was unwell and attended the rally with high fever," BJP state president Dilip Ghosh told DH.

He also said that Shah will not be able to attend the party rally on Wednesday in Jhargram district unless his health permits.

" He will not be able to attend Wednesday's rally unless his health improves. We have asked the central leadership to send another leader in case he is unable to attend the rally at Jhargram," said Ghosh.
