Hyderabad: YSRCP supremo YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has said the resentment among people and voices of questioning are growing, ringing danger bells to the coalition government.
Speaking to the media in Tadepalli on Thursday, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy called the bluff of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on state finances, implementation of welfare schemes, governance, growth rate and social welfare giving a powerpoint presentation backed with data.
“This was foretold by me during electioneering that Chandarbabu Naidu has been giving false and impracticable promises,” he said.
Jagan said Chandrababu Naidu had given 143 promises during electioneering covering all sections of people but failed to implement them and he also has done away with the existing welfare schemes much to the ire of students, youth, women, farmers and all sections.
Education, medical, agriculture, industrial and social welfare sectors are badly hit. Instead of creating jobs, he has retrenched and relocated ward and village secretariat employees and others. The regular employees were also cheated on their dues, allowances and not paying the interim relief among others, Jagan said.
“As of now, he has borrowed or applied for loans to a tune of Rs 1.45 lakh crore and while carrying the baggage of all the unfulfilled promises, where did this amount landed is the question he has to answer. The rampant corruption prevailing in the state has a pattern in the form a cartel from locals to the top leadership having their cut, leaving development and welfare to wind. Indiscriminate liquor outlets and gambling dens are flourishing in the state. The financial vandalism of the state comes to the fore when the revenue to government falls while the price of sand and liquor has gone up,” he said adding that contractors are being given ten percent mobilization advance which was never done before. YSRCP government started the judicial preview for allotting tenders which was revered by the coalition government.
The wealth creation Chandrababu Naidu talks about is not for the people but for him and his coterie or else how can he justify the rejection of medical seats and privatizing medical education while we have initiated the process of building 17 medical colleges to improve medical facilities and make medical education affordable to the poor, he said.
The YSRCP government has developed four ports and ten fishing harbours and Chandrababu Naidu has given them to his people on a platter. Chandarbabu Naidu's silence on Polavaram dam height and fund allocation shows that his priorities lie elsewhere and not on State interests. This also reflects in the recent budget as Bihar with fewer number of MPs could get a lion’s share while AP had to be content with whatever was given, he said.
On State finances, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy said that his government has performed better than national average and previous TDP term despite Covid. Contrasting the seven month period from June to December, he said there is negative growth rate in state revenue as the amount ws Rs 50,804 crore during 2023-24 and was Rs 50,544 crore in the corresponding period and his claim of 13 per cent growth rate is absurd.
