The event will now take place on Friday evening. Minister of Civil Aviation K Rammohan Naidu, who was in Vijayawada attending the first anniversary events of the NDA government, rushed to Ahmedabad immediately upon receiving news of the flight crash.

On Thursday morning however, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu had launched a scheme Thalliki Vandanam. Under the scheme government will extend financial assistance of Rs.15,000 per annum per child to every eligible mother/guardian, regardless of the number of children for sending their children to Schools from Classes I to XII (including Intermediate Education) in all recognized Government, Private Aided and Private Unaided schools/ Junior Colleges including Residential Schools/Junior Colleges in the state from the Academic year 2025-26.

“We had promised development, and today, we are delivering it. Among the Super Six guarantees, the Thalliki Vandanam scheme is a flagship initiative. We firmly believe that if a household has two or more children, it is not fair to offer the benefit to only one. That’s why we have designed the scheme to support all children in a family. Today, we are spending Rs 10,091 crore on 67 lakh beneficiaries. Of this amount, Rs 1,346 crore is earmarked for school infrastructure development,” said Naidu while launching the scheme.

He added that with enhanced Amma Vodi guidelines, and launched an improved programme that deposits funds directly into the accounts of mothers, based on the number of children they have. In contrast to the previous government, which supported 42,61,965 beneficiaries, his government has reached 67,27,164 beneficiaries an increase of 24,65,199 people, Naidu said.

“Whereas the previous scheme involved a total outlay of Rs 5,540 crore, this year we are crediting Rs 8,745 crore, marking a significant increase of Rs 3,205 crore under this single scheme. It has been one year since the NDA government came to power in Andhra Pradesh. We are actively implementing the promises made in our election manifesto and throughout the campaign. Development and welfare are the two eyes of the NDA government, and we are progressing on both fronts simultaneously. Our approach is clear to create wealth, boost incomes, and strike a balance between economic growth and social welfare,” he said and added that his government has inherited a severely damaged economic situation in the state. Despite this, his government proving commitment through action, not just words.

We had promised development, and today, we are delivering it. Among the Super Six guarantees, the “Thalliki Vandhanam” scheme is a flagship initiative, he added.
