Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu marked a significant milestone on Monday, completing thirty years of service after first assuming office as the youngest Chief Minister of the undivided state then at the age of 45 in 1995.
Over these three decades, he has served as Chief Minister four times. His son and current Andhra Pradesh IT Minister, Nara Lokesh, commemorated the occasion by describing it as "the dawn of an era that reimagined Andhra Pradesh's ambitions and accelerated its rise."
Lokesh highlighted how his father's leadership journey has focused on "turning possibilities into reality and aspirations into durable institutions." The achievements cited include transforming governance through technology, catalyzing investment and job creation, developing HITEC City and Genome Valley to establish a new tech identity for the state, and conceptualizing Amaravati as a symbol of future-ready urban development.
According to Lokesh, this leadership has successfully integrated innovation, infrastructure, and inclusion throughout the state's development trajectory.
“His epoch-making tenure saw water changing the lives in the heartland by carrying Krishna waters through Handri–Neeva and key lift linkages, the parched Rayalaseema region gained assured irrigation and drinking water - greening lakhs of acres across Kurnool, Anantapur, Kadapa, and Chittoor, enabling multiple crops, stabilizing village tanks, and strengthening farm incomes through drought cycles. Upcoming irrigation schemes like Polavaram and Banakacherla will transform Rayalaseema into Ratnalaseema. Thirty years is more than a milestone. It's a living legacy.
"From HITEC City to “Quantum” frontiers, from biotech aspirations to data-driven economies, the work remains a legacy in progress. Warm greetings on completing three decades sir, a person I'm privileged to call ‘nanna’ at home and ‘Boss’ at work. Still young at heart and steadied by experience, our Chief Minister stands ready to meet new challenges with clarity, courage, and conviction,” added Lokesh.
The techno savvy Chief Minister, who was instrumental in development of Hyderabad as IT capital of India and turned as an inspiration for lakhs of techies across the globe is now focussing on development of Amaravati capital and initiated measures to develop Amaravati as Quantum computing valley.
Going a step further in utilising advanced technology, the Naidu government has been providing 700 public services through WhatsApp in the name of Mana Mitra whatsapp governance platform.
As a great reformer from the very beginning, Naidu launched DWCRA groups, the first of its kind self-help women groups for economic uplift of women. The same system is being followed throughout the country. He was instrumental in bringing administration to the door step of people by introducing Prajala Vaddaku Palana and involving people in serving their native villages through Janmabhoomi programme.
Naidu who developed Vision 2020 policy during the earlier years of his tenure is now advocating Swarnandhra 2047 to transform the state into a $2.4 trillion economy and to make Andhra Pradesh a poverty-free state on the lines of Viksit Bharat 2047. The 75-year-old, who had promoted one techie for each family earlier, is now promoting one entrepreneur for each family for economic development of all sections of people.
