Hyderabad: Former Minister Ambati Rambabu said that chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu is trying to cover up his lies on the Tirupati laddu issue by spreading falsehood and making arrests with ulterior motives.

Speaking to media in Tadepalli on Monday, he said that Naidu is trying to politicize the Tirupati laddu issue by spreading lies that animal fat was included in the ghee supplied to TTD for preparation of the laddu.

Rambabu's comments gained significance in the wake of arrests made by CBI led SIT recently in connection with the adulteration of ghee used to make sacred Tirupati laddu prasadam.

There has been no contamination as being alleged by Naidu and the ghee would be accepted only after passing the quality control test which is the normal practice, the former minister said. During 2014-19 tankers were rejected on 15 occasions while in YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s term 18 times ghee tankers were rejected as they did not adhere to the quality specifications.

The arrests being made are only a face saving exercise by Naidu who lied on the quality of the Tirupati laddu alleging that there was animal fat in the ghee.

Pawan Kalyan made a big show by trying to cleansing the temple on the pretext that grave mistake was committed at Tirumala.

There is no truth in the allegation that the ghee used for prasadam was contaminated, he said.

The remarks of Chiranjeevi on Jana Sena being an off-shoot of Praja Rajyam indicates that there would be merger as he had done, he remarked.
