An IndiGo flight from Tirupati to Hyderabad circled for about 40 minutes in air due to a technical glitch on Sunday.
Shortly after the takeoff, the flight 6E 6591 had to return to Tirupati Airport at 7:55 pm. As per media reports, as a "precautionary move", the flight began circling for 40 minutes before it decided to return to the airport.
ANI reported that the flight had detected a minor technical snag and will undergo necessary checks before resuming operations.
A spokesperson from the company assured that re-accommodation or refund against cancellation will be done for the passengers.
"All affected customers have been re-accommodated on the next available flights or given full refund against cancellation, as per their preference," the spokesperson said, as reported by ANI.
Another flight on the same route earlier on Sunday had also faced similar issue. As per the reports, flight 6E 2696 returned to Tirupati Airport after facing technical glitch and circled before landing.
Last week, a Goa bound IndiGo flight from Delhi ha d to make an emergency landing at Mumbai airport due to a mid-air engine failure.
The aircraft A320 neo, operating the flight 6E 6271, was diverted to Mumbai and made an emergency landing at 9.52 pm.
In a statement on Wednesday, an IndiGo spokesperson said a technical snag was detected on flight 6E 6271 while flying from Delhi to Manohar International Airport, Goa.
"Full emergency was declared for IndiGo flight 6E-6271, operating on Delhi-Goa route after it was diverted to Mumbai due to one engine failure," a source said.
