After submitting his resignation, Vijaysai Reddy denied reports that he is joining BJP. Reddy has three more years of Rajya Sabha tenure as he decided to resign. The seat will now go to the NDA fold.

Vijaysai Reddy has been the auditor of the YS family for more than three generations. He is also a co-accused in Jagan's alleged quid pro quo deals being probed by the CBI and ED.

Stating that even if 1,000 people like him leave YSRCP, Jagan’s popularity will remain intact, Vijaysai Reddy clarified that he has no differences with YS Jagan and his family and asserted that for 40 years, and three generations, he has had close relations with the YSR family. “In this lifetime, there won’t be any differences with their family; there were never any in the past, nor will there be any in the future,” he told reporters after submitting his resignation.

Vijaysai Reddy also said that he had informed Jagan, who is in London currently, about his decision to quit the Rajya Sabha and politics. The auditor-turned-politician also dismissed reports that fearing cases against him, he is resigning from the party and the Rajya Sabha.

In the YSRCP, Vijaysai Reddy was considered the second most influential figure after Jagan. He has been the pointsman of the party in Delhi. He had always maintained friendly relations with the political parties and leaders of various hues at the Centre in Delhi.
