Another Supreme Court bench on Tuesday recused from hearing a plea by the Delhi government for restraining the high court from delivering its judgment on issues including the scope of powers of the National Capital Territory (NCT) government.

Justice L Nageswara Rao, who sat in the bench headed by Justice A R Dave, withdrew himself from hearing the case.

This is the second bench to recuse after Justice J S Khehar from hearing the matter.
On getting the information, senior advocate Indira Jaising, representing the Delhi government, approached the bench presided over by Chief Justice T S Thakur and sought urgent hearing of the matter.

She said it seemed that she was probably ‘jinxed’ as the hearing is getting deferred time and again.

The CJI then assured Jaising of listing of the matter before a third bench on Friday.
