As part of its foundation day campaign, the BJP on Tuesday launched felicitation meetings for active party members at the assembly level across Uttar Pradesh.
According to a party statement, such meetings were held in 238 of the state's 403 assembly constituencies. The remaining 165 constituencies will host their meetings on Wednesday. (PTI)
Union minister Jyotiraditya Scindia on Tuesday said the new Waqf law will prevent the misuse of properties and ensure that the Waqf land is used for the development of people.
"The opposition's thinking and ideology is to run the affairs of the Waqf (Board) with monopoly and misuse things (properties). But Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP and government have exposed them. Now, Waqf land will be used for the development of people, and this is the ideology of the entire society, including the Muslim community," Scindia told reporters. (PTI)

The Jammu and Kashmir Assembly was adjourned for three hours on Wednesday as the House witnessed ruckus for the third consecutive day over the denial of adjournment of business to discuss the Waqf Act.

On the Waqf Amendment Act discussion, Kharge added: “Instead of discussing important public issues, the government held debates for communal polarisation late into the night, until 3–4 am. On critical issues like Manipur, debate was started only at 4:40 a.m. I told Shah ji we should speak about it the next day, but the government refused. This shows they want to hide something from the public and are trying to cover up their failures.” (PTI)

As a section of BJD leaders are still unhappy with the party’s flipflop over supporting the Waqf (Amendment) Bill, the regional outfit’s president Naveen Patnaik held a meeting with senior leaders to find a way out of the situation and assured all that the necessary action would be taken.
A group of young leaders including several MLAs also met separately to discuss the issue and submitted a memorandum to Patnaik, urging him not to help the BJP any more, as the BJD had done several times when it was in power.
Sources said the young leaders are likely to meet Patnaik on Wednesday. (PTI)

I know you are hurt over the Waqf property issue, but please have faith — nothing will happen in Bengal that will divide and rule. Spread the message that we all must live together in harmony...
