Rasam (Broth) is written and directed by Prerana Bangalore Gopala Krishna. It encapsulates the life of Eka, a modern day urban woman - a victim of patriarchy and abuse by her chauvinistic husband. A turn of events, motivates Eka to set herself free from the clutches of the patriarchy and shackles of marriage while choosing the Rasas (emotions) of her life on the auspicious day of Navratri - the same day that Goddess Durga won over the demon.
Tabla, written and directed by Theertha Prakash, explores how Ishita and her father are left to manage on their own, when her mother leaves home for a few days. As days go by, Ishita finds herself shouldering more and more of the household responsibilities, while trying to keep up with her job. The tension between father and daughter gradually builds, leading to a pivotal moment where unspoken truths about shared responsibilities and the unseen pressures of daily life come to the surface.
Dump Yard, directed by Nikhil Shinde, explores the chaotic experience of Sandesh, as he juggles his son's birthday preparations with the unexpected loss of his phone - his frantic search, leading him to a garbage dump and a newfound acquaintance, a garbage collector.
The entry for the screening is free of cost. Contact: 99805 96824 or mail to: contact@mysurucinemasociety.com
