Guwahati: Police in eastern Assam's Dibrugarh district arrested a lady, her teenage daughter and two others for allegedly killing her husband on July 25.

Police on Sunday said investigation so far suggests that the victim, Uttam Gogoi, a local trader, was killed by his wife, Bobby Sonowal Gogoi, her daughter and two other teenage boys. Police said the two teenage boys are friends of Gogoi's daughter.

After the man died, his wife and daughter claimed that he died due to a stroke. But some injury marks found on the deceased's body caused suspicion and the four were arrested on Saturday following investigation.

Gogoi's relatives alleged to police that he was murdered as the family had some conflicts. Police, however, did not divulge details of the conflict in the family. 

Dibrugarh SP, VV Rakesh Reddy told reporters in Dibrugarh on Sunday that four are being interrogated for details about modus operandi and the motive behind Gogoi's suspected murder. 

Gogoi's relatives and local residents of Borboruah area staged a protest and demanded action against the accused.
