ATS chief Rakesh Maria chose to avoid the media on Thursday when a special MCOCA court allowed the CBI to reinvestigate the case in the light of Aseemanand’s confession.
On Friday, he broke his silence and said that the ATS was waiting for the certified copy of the seer’s purported confession.

Maria refused to go into details of the ATS investigations of the 2006 blasts, merely saying his team would like to interrogate Aseemanand.

According to lawyer Jaleel Ahmed, brother of an accused Abrar Ahmed, the ATS allegedly picked up people who had personal enmity with police informers.
