Referring to the announcement about access to tax benefits, Australia’s Acting High Commissioner to India, Lachlan Strahan, said: “India and Australia have recently launched negotiations on a film co-production agreement which will further boost the opportunities for collaborations between the Indian and Australian film industries.” The “expanded access to the film offsets”, would be facilitated by reduction in the minimum qualifying expenditure threshold for the Post, Digital and Visual Effects (PDV) from Aus $5 million to Aus $500,000.
