G Mary Paul, an Australian national, had been staying here at Aishwarya Garden near the Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Medical Sciences hospital since 2005, they said.
Mary was riding a two wheeler when the bus hit her, while taking a turn, killing her on the spot, Puttaparthi Police said.
"The bus driver suddenly took a right turn even as Mary, who was coming on two-wheeler hit into the bus," investigating officer said.
She was on her way to Prashanthi Nilayam when the incident happened.
The woman's body has been sent for postmortem to Penukonda town.
A case has been registered and further investigation is on, police officer added.
