In coma following a motorbike accident on September 11, Ayazuddin “breathed his last at 11:51 am due to hypoxic encephalopathy”, a press release from the hospital said.
A promising cricketer, Ayaz was allegedly cruising at 200 kmph on a Rs 13-lakh bike presented by his dad for Ramzan when he lost control and skidded off the eight-lane Outer Ring Road near Puppalaguda check post.
Ayaz was admitted to Apollo Hospital in very critical condition. He sustained multiple injuries on the head, chest, kidneys and other vital organs. Azhar’s nephew Ajmal-ur-Rahman (16) who was riding pillion with Ayaz died on the spot.
After completion of customary postmortem from Osmania Hospital, Ayaz’s body was shifted to Azhar’s Banjara Hills residence. He was laid to rest in the evening as per Islamic tradition.
