Basu, who is currently winding up the shooting of the Ranbir Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra-starrer, “Burfi,” has already held two rounds of talks with Anand but has kept everything under wraps.

If sources are to be believed, the current heartthrob Ranbir is likely to play the lead in Basu’s next project, a biopic on the founder of Super 30. Super 30 is a coaching institute which helps underprivileged children prepare for the joint entrance examination (JEE) of the prestigious IIT.

Though formal announcements about Basu’s forthcoming movie has not been made, sources said that the ace film-maker had a one-on-one meeting with Anand, once in Patna and then again in Mumbai.

The math genius has been offered a rough draft of the script of the movie, which he is reportedly going through.

When contacted, Anand neither denied nor confirmed the news but admitted that talks were going on in this direction. “Nothing has been finalised as yet. But it’s true that I have talked to Basu, and he has given me the rough draft of the script of the movie,” Anand told Deccan Herald on Saturday.

To a specific query about whether Ranbir has been roped in to play the role of Anand, the math wizard said, “I have no idea. That’s totally left to Basu’s discretion. Mathematics is my forte. Film-making is his.” Amitabh Bachchan’s character of Prof Prabhakar Anand in Prakash Jha’s “Aarakshan,” was also inspired by Anand Kumar’s life.

So indebted was Jha that he and Big B both admitted in Patna before the release of the movie that a few tips were taken from Anand to infuse life into the reel character.
