This Eid-Al-Adha, no animal sacrifice was made at Bisada village in Uttar Pradesh's Gautam Buddh Nagar district, the scene of a brutal lynching of a Muslim man over rumours of cooking beef.

Sources said Muslims at the village offered namaz at the mosque but refrained from making animal sacrifice.

At least five to six goats would be sacrificed each year during Bakrid, a resident said.
“We did not want any trouble in the village,” said another resident. Sources said Muslims in the village decided well in advance not to sacrifice animals this festival.

“No pressure on us. It was our own decision,” a Muslim resident said.
