Bitti Mohanty, convicted for raping a German woman, was brought to Alwar on Thursday evening.

Mohanty, accompanied by two police teams from Kerala and Rajasthan, arrived at Alwar from Kerala in the Mangla Express.

Following Mohanty’s arrest, the Rajasthan Police had gone to Kannur seeking his custody for jumping parole. But they will get the custody only after investigations into the impersonation, cheating and forgery cases against Mohanty in Kerala are completed.

After arriving in Alwar, Mohanty was taken to the Alwar prison and then to the hospital for medical examination. According to sources, he will be lodged in the Kotwali police station and may be taken to Jaipur by Thursday.  Mohanty, son of a senior police officer from Odisha, was sentenced to seven years in prison. He later jumped parole.

Thereafter, Mohanty impersonated as Raghav Rajan, taught at a school in Andhra Pradesh, completed MBA and found a job with a public sector bank in Kerala by furnishing forged documents. According to an officer who accompanied Mohanty from Kerala to Alwar,  he was not handcuffed during the two-day journey. He sat by the window and had vegetarian food. He remained composed throughout the journey. He got upset after some mediapersons tried to shoot a video and question him in Mathura and Alwar.

At the Mathura train station, Mohanty was allowed to take a stroll for a few minutes.
