Mumbai: Team India and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) are not keen to play the Asia Cup match with Pakistan. However, they are under pressure from the International Cricket Council (ICC) and Asian Cricket Council (ACC), said the Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena (UBT)’s Rajya Sabha member Sanjay Raut, hitting out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

“BJP’s Papa can stop the Russia-Ukraine war…even under pressure from (United States President) Donald Trump, he can stop the India-Pakistan war…however, he cannot stop an Indo-Pak cricket match,” Raut told reporters in Mumbai on Sunday.

“Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s son Jay Shah is the ICC Chairman while Mohsin Naqvi is the ACC Chairman, who is a Pakistani,” Raut, the Shiv Sena (UBT) chief spokesperson said, adding that the Modi-government is “shameless”.

Raut’s statement comes a day after Thackeray announced state-wide protests during which the UBT Sena’s women wing sent sindoor boxes to the Prime Minister.

In a post on X, Raut tagged the RSS and the BJP, and threatened to share information about hotels and restaurants, who would be screening the matches. “The information about the restaurants and clubs where the India

Pakistan cricket matches should be shared publicly by patriotic citizens on social media! Jai Hind! Jai Maharashtra! Bharat Mata Ki Jai! My Kunku, My Country!”.
