An anonymous phone call warned of a bomb planted in the plane. The Kingfisher aircraft was taken to a remote bay of the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport and all 166 passengers were deplaned, airport officials said.

The flight was scheduled to take off from the domestic airport at 4:45 pm when an anonymous phone call was received by the airlines warning of a bomb planted in the Kingfisher plane.

Security personnel carried out a thorough search of the aircraft before evacuating passengers to the terminal building, an airlines spokesperson said.

The warning, however, turned out to be a hoax call and the police are trying to trace the origin of the call.
