Here are the conditions one should know before going for the 'Book Now, Pay Later' scheme -

1 - One has to first log into the IRCTC account, then hit the 'Book Now' option.

2 - At this time, a new page opens where the passenger details along with the captcha code has to be filled in. Once the details are entered, the submit button has to be hit.

3 - Then. the payment details page opens and one can pay via credit or debit cards, while also using the BHIM UPI app or net banking.

4 - Customers wishing to use the Pay Later feature need to register first. One can do so by going to - www.epaylater.in

5 - Once a customer is registered, they get the payment option. On choosing the option, the train ticket can be obtained without any upfront cost.

Customers must, however, finish the payment within 14 days after the ticket reservation. Failure to do so will attract a 3.5 per cent service charge. However, if the payment is completed in time, there is no additional cost incurred on part of the buyer.

IRCTC announced earlier the option of buying tickets and paying later through partnerships with third-party payment platforms.
