The Supreme Court on Friday told the CBSE to conduct the All India Pre-Medical/Pre-Dental Test (AIPMT) 2015 and declare results on or before August 17.
The apex court had told the CBSE on June 15 to conduct the exam within four weeks. The court cancelled AIPMT 2015 held on May 3 as it felt that the examination stood denuded of its sanctity due to passing of answer keys illegally to some candidates.
A bench presided over by Justice R K Agrawal granted only one month extra time keeping in view the academic schedule.
“The first counselling session shall be held on or before August 28, the second session on or before September 4 and the third on or before September 11,” the bench said.
At the outset, the bench told Attorney-General (A-G) Mukul Rohatgi, “We have seen your application, the grant of four weeks is sufficient.”
However, the bench relented on repeated requests by Rohatgi, along with Solicitor-General Ranjit Kumar.
