While cleaning some stash at home, one usually stumbles upon old books, albums or some random gadgets. However, a man in Chandigarh just hit a jackpot after he found physical copy of Reliance shares that were bought in 1988.
Rattan Dhillon from Chandigarh found old physical shares of Reliance Industries Limited which was bought in 1988 for Rs 10 per share.
Taking to his X account, he posted the pictures of the documents asking netizens for guidance on what he needs to do with the shares.
"We found these at home, but I have no idea about the stock market. Can someone with expertise guide us on whether we still own these shares?" he wrote in the caption.
The post has garnered over 3 million views and a flurry of comments, many genuinely guiding him with what to do with those documents, however some posted fun comments.
Many users commented the approximate amount the shares will hold in today's time, which can be over Rs 11 lakh.
"Rattan bhai aur acche se ghar chaan maro, kya pata MRF ke bhi nikal aayein kuch shares..., (Rattan bhai, search the house well, who knows some shares of MRF might also come out...)" commented a user.
"Rattan, You are secret millionaire, holding some vintage shares," a second user commented.
"While most of us find old receipts and missing socks, you found a mini fortune, 11 lakh in 2025," commented a third.
"A few more rounds of spring cleaning and you could buy a few more SUVs," commented a fourth.
