Raipur: BJP chief J P Nadda and Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge will be in Chhattisgarh on Monday to attend programmes of their respective parties.
While Nadda will inaugurate the ruling BJP’s 3-day training programme for its MPs and MLAs in Mainpat in Surguja district, Kharge will address a public rally of his party in the state capital Raipur.
Talking to reporters here at Raipur railway station before leaving for Ambikapur (Surguja) on Sunday late evening, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai said lectures will be held on multiple subjects during the training session.
The concluding function will be addressed by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, he said.
Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and other senior party leaders will also speak during the programme, he said. It will be helpful in making a developed Chhattisgarh, he added.
A Congress functionary said Kharge will address their party’s ‘Kisan-Jawan-Samvidhan’ public meeting at the Science College ground here at 12.30 pm on Monday.
At 4 pm, Kharge will chair a meeting of the political affairs committee of the state Congress at Rajiv Bhawan here and then a meeting of the state unit's executive committee at 5 pm, he said.
Congress general secretary (organisation) KC Venugopal will accompany Kharge during his visit, the party functionary added.
