According to a report by India Today, witnesses reportedly claimed that the woman was sitting on the lap of the driver, severely impacting the driver's vision on the road.

Following the accident, the woman started creating a scene and was filmed arguing with the police, in a video that went viral.

In the video, the woman is seen refusing to go along with the cops, stating that she doesn't have her phone and she wants it back, while others try to explain that her phone is missing and that she needs to sit in the police van.

She is seen aggressively arguing with the police and the people present, stating that she is not scared and she will not go anywhere till she gets her phone, even if it takes the whole night.

The driver, who is a lawyer, and the woman, who is reportedly on a tourist visa, have both been taken into custody. The three injured were immediately rushed to Mekahara Hospital, and have now been discharged.

The accident occurred within the jurisdiction of the Telibandha police station, and investigation is under way. The police have presented the car owner and the Russian woman before a court and have sought their custody for further investigation, India Today reported.

The car had 'Bharat Sarkar' written on it, but is a private vehicle. As such, the authenticity of the signage is also being verified.
