Mumbai: Couple of days after the murderous attack on Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan, the suspect has been detained from a train in Durg in Chhatisgarh on Saturday.
The suspect, identified as Aakash Kailash Kanojia (31) has been detained by a team of Railway Protection Force (RPF) after real-time human and technical intelligence inputs.
A Mumbai police team is on way for the neighbouring state to take the custody of the suspect.
According to information reaching here, the suspect was found on board Jnaneshwari Express which runs between Mumbai Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT) to Shalimar Kolkata.
The Mumbai police has shared the photo to the suspect across police stations of Maharashtra and neighbouring states and the railway police.
Besides, details of his mobile phone and locations were also shared.
The RPF Durg police station initially alerted its counterpart at Rajnandgaon station but the suspect could not be located when the train halted there.
In Durg, multiple teams were kept ready and the suspect was spotted in the front general compartment.
The RPF Durg shared it's photo to Mumbai Police who confirmed his identity.
The suspect would be brought to Mumbai under transit remand.
