CISF jawan shoots himself to death in TN

A constable with Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), who hails from Uttar Pradesh and was on duty at the Madurai airport, shot himself to death on Sunday afternoon.

Ashok Kumar, aged 44 years, suddenly took up his 'Insas service rifle', aimed it at his right eye and pulled the trigger all too fatally, police sources in Madurai said. He belongs to the 8th battalion head quartered in Jaipur and was to shortly go back to the Pink city.

The constable's scalp was cracked open and the brain came out due to the impact of shooting at point blank range. He was rushed to a government hospital in Madurai where he was pronounced brought dead. Police said the cause of the suicide was a mystery as all his colleagues and senior officials were completely taken aback by the act. No suicide note was found.

 “He was absolutely normal and he even had his weekly off and fully rested,”  the Madurai SP, Balakrishnan said. The family of Ashok Kumar has been intimated and they would be coming here, he said.The RDO will conduct an inquiry and submitted a report within two or three days.
