Mumbai: A defiant Kunal Kamra on Tuesday came out with another parody song - ‘hum honge kangaal ek din, mann me hai andhvishwas, desh ka satyanash’ - this time targeting BJP along with Shiv Sena, even as Eknath Shinde, in his first reaction, said “every action has a reaction”, accusing the stand-up comedian of taking contract to crack jokes.

The new clip of the satirist is from the same ‘Naya Bharat’ show recorded at The Habitat in The UniContinental hotel in Khar suburbs of Mumbai.

The 36-year-old Kamra, who faces an FIR, however, has not appeared before the Mumbai Police, so far, and has sought a week’s time to present himself.

Besides, he also refused to apologise as asked by Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, who is also the state’s Home Minister and Law & Judiciary Minister.

According to Shinde, the chief leader of Shiv Sena and the state’s Deputy Chief Minister, Kunal takes “supari” (contract) to crack such jokes in public platforms.

The reaction of Shinde comes hours after Kamra said that he is not going to apologise for his stand-up comedy.

"There is freedom of expression. We understand satire. But there should be a limit…This is like taking 'supari' (contract) to speak against someone,” Shinde said.

On the vandalisation of The Habitat in The UniContinental hotel in Khar suburbs of Mumbai, where the video ‘Naya Bharat’ was recorded, Shinde said: “Every action has a reaction…party workers have emotions.”

“Leave me aside…the same person has spoken against the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Chief Justice of Supreme Court, Finance Minister and even journalist Arnab Goswami and industrialists,” he said.

However, hours after Shinde’s statement, Kamra came out with a new clip from the same video.

Kamra is now in Tamil Nadu, he revealed in an audio recorded when he was threatened by alleged Shiv Sainiks.

Kamra has refused to apologise. “I will not apologise. What I said is exactly what Mr. Ajit Pawar (1st deputy CM) said about Mr. Eknath Shinde (2nd Deputy CM). I don't fear this mob and I will not be hiding under my bed, waiting for this to die down,” he wrote on social media.
