A row began recently when Congress leader Shama Mohamed in a now-deleted X post 'fat shamed' the Indian Cricket Team captain Rohit Sharma.

"@ImRo45 (Rohit Sharma) is fat for a sportsman! Needs to lose weight! And of course, the most unimpressive captain India has ever had!" her post read.

However, she later clarified that it was a "generic tweet" about the fitness of a sportsperson rather than "body-shaming".

Soon after her remark on Rohit Sharma caught attention, Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya taking to his X account said, "Congress and TMC should leave sportspersons alone as they are fully capable of handling their professional lives."

Calling such remarks made by political leaders as "shameful" and "outright pathetic", he added that these comments can undermine the hard work and sacrifices that the sportspersons make to represent the country on the global stage.

Now, Shama Mohamed has taken a dig at Mandaviya by posting a screenshot of now-deleted old post by BJP MP Kangana Ranaut.

The post was shared on X during the time of farmers' protests in India, when Rohit Sharma showed his support towards the farmers.

"India has always been stronger when we all stand together and finding a solution is the need of the hour. Our farmers play an important role in our nations well being...", the captain's post read.

Ranaut then had bashed the captain for his stand on the issue. She posted this when she had not entered politics.

Now questioning Mandaviya's stand on Ranaut's old statement, Mohamed wrote, "What does @mansukhmandviya have to say to @KanganaTeam ! #JustAsking".

Rohit Sharma was heavily criticised by Shama Mohamed, who pointed fingers at his fitness level. The Congress spokesperson also compared the Indian skipper with Virat Kohli, Sourav Ganguly, Kapil Dev and described Rohit as a "mediocre captain and player" who got "lucky" to be India's captain.
